Kitty Yoga

October 1, 2008

In a desperate, last ditch effort to continue yoga without breaking the bank, I went to Target today and bought a new Yoga video, The Firm Power Yoga ($13 as opposed to the $150 I’d be paying if I continued at the fancy, eco-friendly professional yoga studio).  I was not the only one who enjoyed the idea of doing yoga from home….check this out:

S-T-R-E-T-C-H!

What?  Have you never seen a cat do yoga before?

I think it is quite possible Tigger did more yoga than I did because I was too busy snapping photos!

100% Pure Evil

September 29, 2008

And, no…I’m not talking about Bush (although these days that might be a damn good guess).  I’ve been walking down memory lane tonight looking through all sorts of pictures from my childhood to as recently as this year and came across this picture of Scarlett.  This treasure was found just moments after she chased Tigger around the house for no reason other than to scare him to death.  As you can see, she was not too pleased about my creative picture taking during this photo shoot.  She may be evil, but no one can accuse her of not knowing how to spell.

Prison Break

September 16, 2008

By Prison Break, I do not mean the TV show (although really, who can resist Wentworth Miller)?

Tigger decided to try and make his own prison break today as I was coming inside from getting the mail.  His last attempt to run free resulted in a successful but very unpleasant recovery (successful in that we caught him; unpleasant for my husband in that Tigger hissed, sprayed, and bit DH trying to get free).   Luckily these days, Tigger is much slower moving and listened to me scream like a banshee.  Here is a snapshot taken just minutes after dodging for the front door:

As if he didn’t just try and make a break for it!  Oreo also had her own escape plan yesterday. I took her to a vet hospital to take a bandage off her paw and in the back room, I hear the technician scream “Hey!  That was rude!” and then I hear the carrier slam on the ground.  A few minutes later, they brought her back to me and all I could mutter was a weepish “thanks” before running out the door in embarrassment.  Besides this little incident, I’d say all in all her behavior has improved over the last few days.

Since I haven’t posted any newer photos of Oreo, I decided to take some yesterday while she was out playing:

Hope my pets aren’t trying to tell me something!

Oreo, O Oreo

September 2, 2008

Poor, poor Oreo.  Today little Miss Oreo went in for surgery to get spayed.  Over the last several weeks, I’ve seen a total change in her demeanor and it was time.  I must say, the surgery went well thanks to a great recommendation from friends, but she is still feeling the effects post-op and it is a sad, sad sight.  I almost wish she was back to her running in circles, carpet chewing, will bite-your-finger-if-she-feels-like-it ways.  And all because of estrogen.  Who knew?

Not only did I find out estrogen is to blame (and not some spirit-demon possession) but I also found out she weighs 7 1/2 pounds now but for her frame this is in the normal range.  Since I don’t think it’s appropriate to take a picture of her when she’s feeling blue, here instead is the first picture I took of her the second day we found her.

Hard to believe it has been five whole months already.  Almost to the day!

Oreo Update

May 20, 2008

For those of you who like to hear how Oreo is doing (our “adopted” bunny); he is great!  I think my husband is actually accepting that Oreo has found a new home with us and isn’t going anywhere.   And really, who can resist such cuteness!!  It is almost two months now since we found him and he has grown so much already! Here are a few snapshots I took tonight while he was out playing:

We turned one of our spare bedrooms into a make-shift bunny room filled with toys and stuff for him to explore.  Yep, he has definitely found his home.

Cat Bath

April 28, 2008

Tigger had an “incident” by the bathtub Saturday morning and this photo from http://icanhascheezburger.com/ reminded me of it:

humorous pictures

One would think after falling in the bathtub the first time, Tigger would learn his lesson!

Who Wants An Oreo?

April 22, 2008

My husband would pay good money to see someone take this Oreo out of our house…permanently.  Oreo is the name I’ve given the newest addition to the Fisk household.  Rescued by my mother-in-law from our back alley a couple weeks ago, this bunny should be named LUCKY~if he hopped in the wrong backyard he surely would have been some neighbor’s dog’s hassenpfeffer.   The current hypothesis is someone from the community bought him as an Easter present, decided for whatever reason they didn’t want him anymore, and figuring it’s a rabbit, just decided to let him loose.  We put up flyers, went door-to-door, and even stopped at the local animal shelter; no one seems to want to claim him.

There has been some debate in the Fisk household in recent days as far as what to do about little Oreo (AKA “Double-Stuffed”).  One thing however, cannot be debated:  this is one cute and cuddly little rabbit!  He is so sweet and LOVES attention!
